3. Experience in Freelance, Broadcast, &  Remote Print Journalism.

4. 2 Years of Experience giving formal interviews in written, virtual, and in-person styles.

6. Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Audition as well as handling sounds, speakers, microphones, and audio balancing

7. Proficient editing in Xpri editing software.

8. Experience writing social media and web articles that have gained thousands of views.

9. Problem solver.  I will be the first to acknowledge a problem and come up with a solution.

10. Persistent, I do not quit in the face of any adversity. I better myself to conquer any challenge that comes my way.

11. Determined: I like to take the initiative when I perform a task. I set myself up to succeed and get through any barrier.

CTV CHANNEL 11 NEWS/ROCKY MOUNTAIN COLLEGIAN: NEWS ANCHOR

  I am a News Anchor for CTV Channel 11 News and the Rocky Mountain Collegian. I am tasked with creating visual stories every week that focus on issues or events going on in the Fort Collins community.  In the time I have worked at the station I have become proficient in both story writing, filming, and editing skills, using professional-level equipment and Adobe Premiere Pro to edit content. It has been incredible learning new skills while being able to lend a platform for the community to use their voice on.

KKTV 11 NEWS- INTERN

I am a Future Focus Intern for Gray Television at the Top 100 Market ranked news station, KKTV 11 News, reporting on events in the Colorado Springs Community. I have real world experience covering hard news stories in Colorado Springs premiere breaking news station. This Includes editing on the professional Xpri software creating packages and going live on air with the stories of the community. It has been a rewarding experience to work for news in the high-market city I grew up in.

YOUTH DOCUMENTARY ACADEMY: FILMMAKER

 I have been offered the opportunity to study under award-winning filmmaker Tom Shepard to create my own documentary to air on the PBS segment, “Our Time.” I was taught the fundamentals of filmmaking, from studying film theory to working with C-100 Canon cameras, working with sound and lighting, and assisted editing on Adobe. Ultimately I was able to network and set up interviews with multiple talents across the state of Colorado to create my own short documentary, “A Broken Record,” which will have a theater premiere at the Prestigious Colorado College in June before airing on Rocky Mountain PBS alongside my peers’ documentaries sometime in the future.

MY BLACK CITY MAGAZINE: YOUTH WRITER/ASSOCIATE EDITOR

 I have been offered an opportunity to be a part-time interviewer, writer, and editor for My Black City Magazine. I  make suggestions for social media and suggest any improvements to our latest issue. I am tasked to go out and find stories and information about the local young African American communities across Colorado and then report on those stories for our latest issue. Recently, I have done a piece on young Black Artists from all over the state.  I have gotten the chance to educate myself in the vibrant cultures of my people while pursuing work in a career field that I love.
